We went for a hearing test that is recommended for cleft kids on Friday. It was a test that required sedation at the hospital. Andy's hearing at birth was normal. As of the test on friday, he has moderate hearing loss in both ears, he can not hear conversational speech. The audiologist told me he can only hear if you are talking directly in his ear.
Thankfully, she said that the nerve responsible for hearing was normal and she believes that if he gets tubes to relieve the fluid in his ears, he will regain all of his hearing. So now we are going to an ENT asap. Boy oh boy....more doctors appointments in downtown phoenix!
I was able to find out that his ear infection is gone, and he was a complete doll at the hospital. He is such a mellow guy...he hams it up with the doctors and nurses to the extreme!
We'll post on a surgery date when we get it...

Geez Karen, Andy is sure keeping you running! I'm glad that the hearing loss is due to fluid and can be resolved. Who is your ENT?(I've been to just about everyone, let me know if you want an opinion).

Things are getting ugly with the school district and I've cancelled Jack's PT for now. Some day we will get you back!

Both your kids are c-u-t-e!
