We are back from St. Louis. Santa was good to all, we had a wonderful holiday. It is nice to be back home....I have another week off!
We went to Andy's plastic surgery appt today, and the Dr recommends that we do not use his mouthpice anymore. His gumline segments have grown together and she can not thin out the mouthpiece any more.
He takes his bottle easily without the piece, but he fights baby food. It will be an interesting few days.
The tubes have been in his ears two weeks now, and it has been wonderful seeing Andy experience hearing again! He thinks the smallest things are funny and looks right at your face when you are talking to him.
Looks like we are scheduling Andy's palate surgery at the middle to end of February. We are waiting on the surgery scheduler to call us. Our plastic surgeon is pregnant and is due in March. We want to get it done as early as possible (when andy turns 9 months) so that we don't get caught in her maternity leave. Otherwise we will have to wait till May.
Not looking forward to the surgery, (actually dreading it!) but we know it is necessary. Now we just have to get our insurance company to approve it. They finally approved 4 more office visits and we now have to fight approval for the surgery. (Why they just couldnt give more is beyond reason). Thankfully, when surgery is over, if everything goes as planned, we will not have to see the plastic surgeon for a while. Of course, I am sure we will replace the surgeon visits with speech therapy.
I will post some holiday pictures later....
